Its a very good life. Summer season 2010 is as follows: well, ok, hopefully like this.. tomorrow, April 12, I leave for a trip to Boulder Colorado to do two window wells for Tat Maxwell's new eco house. The wells will protect two three panel sliding doors on the basement level walk out. They will be 15 feet long, and 10 feet high more or less. Then i come home to morrisville to work on the walled garden project for the Brechts, then early June, i'll move out to Tennessee to the site of the Bonnaroo music festival where the team and i will build several large sculptures, including a bicycle powered conveyor belt to move empty cans up 12 feet so that we can in-fill a round house. When i get home from that, it will be back to the walled garden and chapel. In July i'm scheduled to teach at Yestermorrow school in Warren, (www.yestermorrow.org) then in Desdemonsolla Italy at a 15th century village restoration project. From there, my cousins' wedding in Iceland, and home again for a fast three day gig at Yestermorrow. Then back to England with the team to work in that walled garden for the Carew family and with my friend Tom Lock. Home again for the first of September and work on the walled garden, It will be a busy summer, and hopefully i'll have time to play in the yard and enter some sculpture events around the area. As always, if you have any ideas, please let me know, and we can work together to bring something to life! thea@myearthwork.com

I was eating my 15 pounds of dirt. When i come to your place for a job interview, i'm interviewing you. If i like you, we could do some planning, if not, we'll do some planning, but you'll get a bigger bill. I live in a funky farm house in rural Vermont where we are allowed to freely express our feelings. We play with color and texture and dance in the rain and play in the mud. Life is full and rich. I look at life with a smile and find the humor in the silliest of things. I look at the stars at night and know i am not important. The work i do happens with me, through me and not so much because of me. The girls have both gone to college now, and my plans for the year include a trip to Iceland and one to England to teach the art of stone there. I've recently completed the building of a new green house at my home studio and still invite people to visit, especially the people who want to tell stories and wave their hands in the air and laugh. if you dance you are also welcome, or sing and dance, thats ok too. thea@myearthwork.com

I do things the hard way, like masonry in the winter, and cycling around in China. But i end up with round chimneys and strong legs. So i figure why not? seriously, who ever makes the 'rules' about what is the right way and the wrong way to do things has to spend a few days with me... we'll maybe make some new rules or break a few old ones.

I'm still all tucked in to my nest in Vermont.. making plans for more art and less money in the coming months. In July, I'll be teaching at Yestermorrow Design School, both in Warren and again in England and then in the fall perhaps at Montserrat Art School in Beverly, Mass where Robyn is studying.I'll spend another month in England over the summer, building in a walled garden, and working on a tower sauna project.. (ask me, i'd love to tell you!) Its a good life, rocky moments included. My past year is on view at my picassa site, send me an email and i'll send you a link thea@myearthwork.com If any one has ideas of where i can place sculpture, please let me know!
