Tarr Steps, Somerset, UK

At Tarr Steps House, the water in the swimming pool seems to originate form this fountain folly. It splashes into the big pool and then over the infinity into the lower basin. One day soon, there will be cultivated gardens all through here, and edibles everywhere, in the mean time, we continue with the stones.

Often the stones I use are from the property on which I'll be building the instillation, as is the case, some of our material came from the property's old kitchen fireplace stone; rather than throwing the stones out, we built it into this fountain.

This has been a project which has been built in stages. Initially the fountain was built, followed by the buttress walls in 2010. All stages will be intertwined constantly with growth of the surrounding vegetation.
