Since the first year, every Art of Stone class starts by pushing over the old Yestermorrow arch so that the stone can become a new creation

During the course of the week, we spend time with the two-dimensional surface, sketching out potential designs; as well as taking a day trip or two. One of these day trips included a visit to my sculpture park where several free standing stone arches can be examined closely.

Having dismantled the arch from the previous year, all set out to build an arch of their own - recycling pieces from the original

Enduring pesky fall flies and heat we did our best with the irregular stones and variety of personalities, building basic stone walls with big arches.
