CLOOKEY FINDS RICH REWARD IN THE CONNECTION OF STONE AND TOOLS, HAND AND HEART, AS THEY ORCHESTRATE TOGETHER IN A THREE DIMENSIONAL FORMAT.

A life long artist from Northern New York,  who during his childhood and teens spent much of his time reveling in the rural country setting with pencils and paper in hand. In pursuit of his dreams, he went on to study studio art at Hartwick College, Oneonta, New York; North Country Community College, Saranac Lake, New York; and SUNY-Potsdam, New York. During the later he took the opportunity to study in San Miguel Mexico.

Michael has changed modes from 2D to 3D as illustrated through the pieces here which are his carvings in soapstone, alabaster and marble.

Keep your schedule open for his show this February, 2015!

Throughout the years, Clookey had accumulated a vast repertoire of drawings, paintings, and prints. His inspirations are rooted in the mystic schools and touch upon the ancient, the spiritual, the dream time and the divine. He incorporates a realistic approach to the surreal and creature-like subject matter to communicate the intricate and complicated weaving of the world.

His pieces are intimate and capture expressive moments in our human nature.

{I focus on}, "bringing out what's always been inside, but waiting to come alive."  - Michael Clookey
